Construction Management
The Construction Management project delivery system is Petra’s most prevalent project delivery type. Hiring your Construction Manager early in the design process, well before construction begins, is a recipe for project success. We typically provide a two-step approach to offering project preconstruction services, followed by construction services. During our preconstruction services effort, we provide cost estimation, scheduling, constructability reviews, and competitive sub-trade pricing. Our construction services allow for the management of the overall construction process to build the project.
Because the Construction Management project delivery method lends itself to collaboration with the Owner and Design Team, we have found it to be a very effective project delivery type.
Building Information Modeling (BIM)
Building Information Modeling (BIM) is the development of an electronic model to store and manage building data during the building's life cycle. Three-dimensional modeling software is used to create a visual representation of the finished project during design and long before any construction work begins. BIM has transformed the design and construction process through increased levels of collaboration, early problem solving, improved construction documentation, and enhanced building system integration. Petra’s experience utilizing BIM generates value for Owners through 3-D visualization and clash detection, resulting in fewer RFI's, change orders, and schedule delays.
Design-Build
Design-Build is a method of project delivery that allows Petra to be responsible for both the design and construction of the project. By combining these two functions from the outset, Design-Build promotes an interdisciplinary team approach throughout the entire duration of the project. The Design-Build approach provides the Owner with the convenience of turn-key construction through a single source for both the design and construction and works well for projects with a challenging time schedule. Petra’s experience with the design-build method has generated very favorable results for our clients.
General Contracting
Petra performs General Contracting work on an ongoing basis for numerous new construction and renovation projects. We are successful in this method of project delivery given our ability to perform quality work in a timely fashion, utilizing our talented in-house tradespeople. Our ownership of equipment, along with our purchasing power, allows us to maintain our competitive advantage in both fixed-priced and cost-plus contract environments.
Sustainable Design (LEED)
Petra is proud to be a part of the sustainable design and construction process, which, through the use of environmentally friendly products, systems, and recycled materials, is being integrated into many building projects. Our LEED-accredited professionals work closely with clients and design professionals to implement cost-effective sustainable building initiatives and achieve their environmental and energy-saving goals.
Our Project Management staff and tradespeople have experience using environmentally friendly and recycled materials. We are knowledgeable in the construction aspects of sustainable sites, water efficiency, energy and atmosphere, materials and resources, and indoor environmental quality, all as required to help you achieve your LEED certification or equivalent.
Emergency Services
Petra offers its construction expertise during property disasters and building emergencies. We swiftly respond and mobilize experienced emergency service personnel to support the immediate needs of our clients. Our positive working relationships with insurance providers, local building, fire, and police departments allow for expedited approvals to mitigate losses.
We offer the resources needed to accomplish critical activities, including damage and hazard assessment, immediate manpower implementation, project management, and field supervision. With our vast trade contractor network, we offer the capability to locate and deliver heavy equipment, generators, vehicles, and tools to the event location, as well as licensed tradespeople.
