Upon his honorable discharge from the United States Army in 1946, Mr. Petraiuolo began a career in the medical field as an X-ray technician, only to discover his true passion in life, which was to be a builder. Following his carpentry apprenticeship with outstanding mentors, he decided to start his own company. In 1953, Guido Petraiuolo established Petra Construction Corporation, which over the years provided residential, light commercial, and architectural woodworking services in the greater New Haven area.

During construction, Petra provides management of the overall construction process, quality control, cost control, and construction scheduling.
General Contracting
Petra’s ownership of equipment, purchasing power, and in-house tradespeople allow us to maintain a competitive advantage under the Design-Bid-Build project delivery method.
Design-Build
By combining design and construction, Petra performs the work under a single contract with the owner, promoting an interdisciplinary team approach from initial concept to completion.
