46 Hillhouse Avenue

46 Hillhouse is a two-story stuccoed-brick Greek Revival-style structure built in 1832 which now serves The Yale School of the Environment. The renovation focused on updating architectural finishes while preserving the building’s historical charm. This mixed-use building, which includes office spaces and classrooms, underwent extensive interior upgrades, including repainting walls, rescreening wood floors, installing new carpeting, and refurbishing area rugs. Key updates included refinishing original millwork, restoring elevator doors, and installing energy-efficient LED lighting. The original area rugs in the main hallway were cleaned, repaired, and reinstalled to maintain the historical integrity of the space. The project was completed on a tight timeline, with work starting in late June and finishing before the start of the school year.
